I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving day! Ours was full of food and festivities! We had our neighbor come over and celebrate with us. She's like family, even though we've only known her for a short time. Of course the Macy's Day parade was first on the agenda! While watching and working in the kitchen we also snacked on hors d'voeurs YUM!
I've been trying to get my OMG done for this month. But it just wasn't possible. I did make some head way and I think I should have it done this weekend. I've also started a new QAL...It's the one with Bonnie Hunter, the Quiltville Mystery! Check it out through the link. Black Friday was Clue 1 and Clue 2 was today. I started it, but want to get back to my Let's Go Camping QAL and get that finished and out of the way. So I'll use the Quiltville QAL as a leader and ender while I finish it and hopefully I won't get too far behind! Here's my OMG project progress...
Sorry for the less than stellar photo. I forgot the grow lights were on and they cast some weird shadows and colors! Mittens and Cuddles were absolutely no help! But try and tell a cat the quilt isn't theirs!
I'm also planning on doing Elm Street Quilts Quilt A Long hosted by Patty Dudek and Kristin Esser. It's a hand piecing QAL! I'm week in that area and love seeing others work. I'm in awe at hand piecing! It starts in January and that will be my something new for 2019. Not that I'm limiting myself to learning only one thing! I love to learn new techniques...keep moving forward!
Electric Quilt had a wonderful Black Friday sale and I purchased the EQmini to try it out. I've already designed two quilts and I have several more I want to get drawn up. So far I can't figure out if I can draw my own blocks and if there is a way to know how much material I need for any given project. I believe EQ8 does...If it doesn't I would be very surprised!
I just signed up for Instagram on the 8th of this month and I've been enjoying seeing other quilters projects. If you want to follow me look for WhiteBearQuilts. <---or click that link! I'm fairly active on it and have been so inspired by every ones wonderful projects!
Pat Sloan announced her upcoming quilt a longs earlier this month. I'm looking forward to playing along! I already have the fabric so now it's just sit and wait! Of course I'm a little behind on her Merry and Bright QAL she just posted the last block! It's a nice size for snuggling under while watching all the Christmas specials!
And finally I'm thinking about applying to be an Island Batik Ambassador. I love batiks, as you can see on most of my quilt projects! They have such a natural look about them and the colors and designs always inspire me! Wish me luck!
I'm looking forward to Christmas time are you!?
Sheila
Those blocks look so pretty together! I'm glad you'll be joining the QAL!!
